Celebrating its 19th year, The Hostplus Leadership Institute (HLI), has evolved from the Fosters Leadership Academy (FLI) and the Club Super Leadership Institute to its current program.

HLI has a reputation for developing some of the Queensland’s Clubs Industries outstanding leaders. This elite training and education program identifies high performing candidates within the industry with natural leadership skills and develops them through an exclusive professional development experience.

This year we have 13 select individuals to join The Hostplus Leadership Institute (HLI) to participate in the 2021/22 program. During this time they will gain a nationally accredited qualification, personal growth and development, networking opportunities as well as lifelong connections to ensure a bright future in the club industry.

Club Obligations

  • Travel costs incurred for training.
  • Commitment to training program by ensuring the availability of the staff member to attend all scheduled training sessions and events.
  • Host training at the staff member’s venue for the allocated month (inc. catering, audio visual and facilities) and the General Manager addressing the group on the topic being studied at the time and brief on the venue

Candidate Obligations

  • Commitment to attendance at all scheduled training sessions and events.
  • Commitment to travel and participation in tours.
  • Commitment to organise their own travel and accommodation bookings.
  • Commitment to be the host of the group, conduct venue tour and organise/book dinner location (for the allocated date that training is taking place at your venue)
  • Commitment to the competency and completion of the training plan

Candidate Criteria

The candidate must be employed in a club full time in one of the below roles or similar role.

  • Senior Duty Manager
  • Operations Manager
  • Department Head

General
Criteria

  • Candidates that have completed the program before cannot apply again.
  • Clubs that are participating in the current year’s program (2020/2021) can not apply for a consecutive year
  • Candidates cannot hold a General Manager position
