Who We Are
CTA Training Specialists is one of Australia’s established Registered Training Organisations, specialising in hospitality and business training.
Founded in 1993 by Chairman John Dickson as Club Training Australia, the company began as a small Queensland training provider and grew into a national organisation with offices in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
Over the last three decades, CTA has expanded to deliver a full range of training services, including accredited courses, traineeships, apprenticeships, and nationally recognised qualifications.
Courses are delivered online, virtually, or face-to-face across every Australian state.
Our mission is to make an impact through innovative training and consulting.

CTA delivers training in every Australian State and Territory. Trainers travel around the country and our online and virtual courses are available anywhere in Australia.
As a Nationally Registered Training Organisation, CTA coordinates accredited programs in gaming and liquor regulation, food safety, and nationally recognised qualifications in hospitality, business, commercial cookery, kitchen management, and tourism.
CTA maintains compliance with the VET Quality Framework and adapts to regulatory changes at both state and federal levels, supported by successful AQTF outcomes.

University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC)
CTA Training Specialists partners with UniSC to offer credit transfer pathways into its Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degrees. Graduates of our business and leadership courses can receive up to 8 courses of advanced standing, making it faster and more affordable to complete a university qualification.
Club Managers Assoc. of Australia
In partnership with Club Managers Assoc. of Australia, CTA Training Specialists provide industry training in Queensland for members to meet the academic requirements for the Active Certified Club Manager Award (ACCM). We are also their preferred training provider for frontline hospitality training nationwide.
Clubs Queensland
As key industry advisors to Queensland’s industry body for community clubs, Clubs Queensland are an important strategic partner for CTA Training Specialists. We collaborate on major industry training initiatives, such as The ECLIPS development program for middle managers of Community Clubs.
University of Queensland
CTA Training Specialists partner with the University of Queensland with providing lectures for Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management. Founded in 1909, the University of Queensland is one of Australia’s leading universities and one of the top 50 universities globally.
Griffith University
CTA Training Specialists partner with Griffith University to deliver hospitality training, including the Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Management and Responsible Service of Alcohol. Established in 1975, Griffith University now has more than 40,000 students on five campuses across South East Queensland.
