CTA Training Specialists holds a current user choice contract to co-ordinate and deliver training to trainees on a state-wide basis – so training with us means you get a nationally recognised, best-practice industry education.

We can deliver training at our Northgate head office or within your venue, as well offering as the flexibility of online courses. With regional trainers positioned across Queensland, we ensure that we have the equipment and resources to bring the training to you, no matter where you are located!

Our Humble Beginning

Created in 1993, Chairman John Dickson developed a “little training company” that he envisioned would see him through to retirement. However, with the rise of gaming the emerging Queensland hospitality industry required a professional training organisation – one that was committed to providing the vast range of training and consulting needed for the sector to flourish under increasing statutory requirements. CTA was ready to take on the task.

Now 29 years on, CTA Training Specialists, in conjunction with DWS Hospitality Specialists, provides a comprehensive range of services including industry and compliance training, traineeships and apprenticeships, as well as assistance on business development, strategic planning, marketing and gaming and liquor regulation advice.

As an award winning RTO, we will continue to deliver focused and experienced training and support for individuals and organisations throughout the hospitality, tourism and leisure industries for many years to come.

CTA are committed to providing and ensuring excellence in accordance with the VET Quality framework. In the past, CTA have adapted to the many changes from both a State and Federal level and have been commended as a strong RTO and given a low risk status upon the successful completion of combined AQTF and User Choice Audits.

We are advocates of professional growth, and make every effort to assist with career development for our team, most of our trainers and administration staff are undertaking further study through external establishments in areas such as aged care, human resources, tourism, business, hospitality and finance.

Customer service is at the core of our business and the hospitality industry. Therefore if you are going to teach it, you need to live it and breathe it. Whilst we may make an occasional mistakes, we are people too after all, it is how we resolve challenges that defines our relationships with our stakeholders. As a result, we enjoy a very high level of repeat business with long standing clients and students.

The CTA team regularly enjoy experiential back-of-house industry tours of leading venues such as; Jupiters Casino, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Lyric Theatre, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Cloudland, Treasury Casino, Greenbank RSL, Spirit Hotels (Coles) Headquarters, ALH (Woolworths) Training department to give us a better understanding of the industry we support and work in.
