Your ALT competency is valid for five years and must be renewed before the expiration date on your Competency Card.

Three months before the expiration date, L&G NSW will send you an email and SMS with the link to the refresher course.

LT and ALT have the same refresher course. Completing it will renew your existing competencies, including RSA, LT and ALT.

If you hold an RCG and/or ARCG endorsement, you must do your RCG refresher separately but around the same time.

Advanced Licensee Training for those with an existing RCG competency

Completing your licensee training renews your RSA competency but not your RCG competency.

If you hold an RCG Competency Card and want to keep it valid, you must complete the RCG refresher within 90 days before enrolling in ALT.

Advanced Licensee Training & NSW Competency Card

Upon completing the course, you will be issued an Interim Certificate. You must take this certificate to your local NSW Services centre to get your new physical competency card. Completing your ALT course also renews your LT and RSA for another five years
