Originally from Canada, Michelle brings a warm and thoughtful presence to the CTA Admin team. Born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta (home to The World’s Largest Teepee), she came to Australia on a working holiday many years ago—and never left. While Canada will always be home, Australia has firmly claimed a place in her heart.
Michelle’s journey into administration began in an unexpected place—underwater! While working as a scuba diving instructor on Lizard Island, she managed a number of admin responsibilities alongside her diving duties. That experience led her to pursue more grounded opportunities, eventually taking on an administration role at a university bookshop, where she discovered her interest in systems, coordination, and operational support.
Michelle’s first step into formal education came through a Certificate IV in Dive Resort Management at a TAFE in Melbourne. This qualification launched her career in scuba diving and hospitality. Later, while working full-time at a university, she earned a Bachelor of Business part-time—demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and continuous learning. Since joining CTA, Michelle continues to build on her skills, always embracing new challenges and opportunities to grow.
Michelle is often described as hardworking, dependable, and quietly confident. While she may be a little reserved at first, she’s known for her sharp wit and great sense of humour. Whether working independently or as part of a team, Michelle brings a calm, thoughtful approach and a strong dedication to doing her best.
With prior experience at another Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Michelle was already familiar with the world of training and education. When an administration opportunity opened at CTA, she was drawn to the company’s stellar reputation in the hospitality industry and the positive, team-focused culture. It felt like the perfect fit—and she hasn’t looked back since.
Michelle is committed to helping CTA continue to grow and succeed. She’s always looking for ways to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support her colleagues across the business. For Michelle, CTA feels like more than just a workplace—it’s a community. She sees it as her “forever workplace” and is proud to be part of the CTA family.
