It’s All About Values At Helensvale Hawks

One of the most family friendly, competitive cricket clubs on the Gold Coast, the Helensvale Pacific Pines Hawks play with pride and values of sportsmanship, ethics and making sure they get the most out of the game of cricket!

With a growing cricket program suited for all ages and skill levels, this local community club is not only community minded, but cost effective, so everyone can play.  They are the largest club on the Gold Coast with 32 teams (21 junior teams including 5 all-girl teams, 8 senior teams, 3 over-40’s teams) so there’s absolutely no stopping them!

Making sure their volunteers are always trained to provide the right support to their juniors, this little club is doing big things to support their community and the team behind them.

The CTA team was approached to deliver RSA training last year at the club and it became much more than that!

Not only an opportunity to sponsor this grass roots sporting club through a monetary sponsorship and assist in keeping registration fees low, but we also had the opportunity to assist this amazing group of people with fulfilling their obligations under their liquor licence by providing a safe environment for volunteers, patrons and families that attend the grounds.

CTA Training Specialists and DWS Hospitality Specialists assisted the Club with an adjustment to their licensed agreement in order to hold a wrestling tournament to raise money for a young junior, Xavier, who has Leukaemia. As a community, they raised over $2,000 from the event, a roaring success.

The club is not only passionate about supporting its own players but also continues to fundraise for many worthy causes including hosting a Pink Stumps Day fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation in February, and getting involved with the upcoming Shave for a Cure.

Another RSA training session was recently held with the team and CTA couldn’t be prouder to assist the Club volunteers with their training and also for the juniors by creating employment opportunities.

President David O’Donnell loves that our training courses are relevant and tailored to their volunteers and young members.

“It’s so important regardless of the size of the sporting club, that we ensure our volunteers are adequately trained and support our juniors in other ways to assist them in learning and growing off the field”.

If your club is looking for hospitality training to support your goals in the community, get in touch with our friendly team today, we’d love to help.
