CTA Student Wins Apprentice Chef of the Year
Aletia Ramscar and Jason McIlroy recently attended the STAR Group Australia Conference 2023 which was held at the magnificent Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast in November.
In a period where our industry is one of the hardest hit in regards to talent shortages, it was phenomenal to see so many representatives from the STAR family in attendance.
Around 350 team members from across both the hotel and retail sectors enjoyed an action packed few days, culminating in a gala evening where the team’s superstars were recognised and rewarded for their achievements.
The theme of the conference was ‘Doing Things Our Way’ and the team certainly live and breathe by that motto!

It was very pleasing to see the amazing Chefs & Apprentices not only be included at the conference, but well represented and acknowledged.
Led by Jay Bhatt (Group Executive Chef) these amazing and talented group of people play a massive role in the success of each of venue. We are grateful to look after their Apprentices across Queensland and are encouraged to see the groups continued investment into training the next generation of great Chefs.
