QLD RSG for International students and Visa holders
Visa holders and international students (including subclass 500) can undertake this course through CTA Training Specialists. You will require a USI to receive your Statement of Attainment. You can apply for one here if you still need to get one.
Same Day RSG Certificates
CTA will issue your Statement of Attainment on the same day as when you submit your assessments if the following conditions are met:
- All assessments submitted before 4 pm AEST.
- You pass your assessments.
- Your USI number has been verified.

Your USI Number
We are unable to issue your SOA without your USI number. To ensure there are no delays, please submit your USI prior to submitting your final assessment. You can do this via the LMS, live chat, phone or by emailing us at [email protected].

RSG Requirements in Queensland
In Queensland, the following individuals are required to hold an RSG.
- Eligible licensee
- Gaming nominee
- Any person carrying out a gaming duty
Gaming duties include:
- Supervise employees who are responsible for the conduct of gaming
- Supervise the access to the internal parts of a gaming machine
- Supervise money clearances
- Issue keys for the security of gaming machines to employees
- Supervise entries in accounting records required to be kept and maintained under the QLD Gaming Machine Act 1991
- Arrange repairs to gaming equipment
- Perform or witness payouts over $500 (as the designated gaming employee)
- Prepare self-exclusion orders/exclusion direction
- Prepare a revocation notice for an exclusion direction
- Make an entry in Form 3G ‘Register of Excluded Persons’
- Prepare a Form 3R ‘Report on Excluded Persons’
- Prepare a Form 3H ‘Notice of Contravention’
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment. As CTA Training Specialists is an approved provider of this course in QLD, the Statement of Attainment is your official RSG Certificate.
Your QLD RSG Certificate does not expire and therefore you are not required to do a refresher course.
If you have a valid Statement of Attainment for the unit of competency code SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services, it is accepted in Queensland as a valid RSG Certificate.

RSG stands for Responsible Gambling Services and refers to the course for the nationally recognised unit of competency SITHGAM022 Provide Responsible Gambling Services.
It is a course that needs to be undertaken by all those who have gaming/gambling-related duties in a licensed club or hotel in Queensland.
An RSG certificate refers to the statement of attainment that you get for successfully completing a course for SITHGAM0222 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol. Is it important to note that only Statement of Attainments issued by approved training providers are considered official RSG Certificates.
You can get your RSG in QLD by completing our RSG course. Upon completion, you will be issued an official statement of attainment that can be used as an RSG Certificate.
Yes, you can complete your RSG course online in Queensland. While the course is delivered entirely online, the assessment has some video and audio aspects to it. You will be required to upload audio and video recordings to show your competency in the subject matter.
It takes approximately 6 hours to complete the RSG QLD online course.
Your RSG certificate (Statement of Attainment) does not expire. You are not required to renew your certificate or do a refresher in Queensland.

While the RSG and RCG courses have the same unit of competency, they are not identical. The RSG course is valid in QLD, WA, and NT, while the RCG course is only valid in NSW
RSA and RSG aren’t the same. RSA is for those who work with alcohol, and RSG is for those who work with gaming/gambling. If working in a fully licensed club or hotel in Queensland, often staff will have both an RSA and RSG certificate so that they work in a number of roles within the same venue.
Your QLD RSG Statement of Attainment is valid in QLD, NT and WA.
For NSW, you need to complete the NSW RCG Course.
For Victoria, you need to complete the local RSG course delivered by the Victorian Government.
Your NSW RCG Statement of Attainment is valid in QLD and can be used as an official RSG Certificate if issued by an approved provider.
