Credit Transfer/ Recognition of Prior Learning
You can transfer credits to this qualification if you have completed any of the core or elective units through other RTOs or previous qualifications. CTA does not charge fees for transferring credits. CTA also offers recognition of prior learning (RPL) for specific units. Funding Options
Career Boost Program
Career Boost is one of the Queensland Government’s core funded vocational education and training (VET) programs, managed by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET). Career Start provides individuals with the skills and support to start their career.
The core VET programs provide subsidised training opportunities for Queenslanders aligned to the priorities set out in the DTET Training Priorities Plan. Career Start supports delivery of entry level training to students, apprentices and trainees aligned with the skill outcomes required by industry.
Career Boost aims to take a person’s career to the next level, enabling them to grow and apply their skills to existing or new job roles and to support productivity growth and workplace innovation.
Career Boost offers either a general training pathway or employment-based apprenticeship or traineeship pathway.

CTA Training Specialists offers BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management under the traineeship funding pathway.
For apprenticeships and traineeships, an individual must be employed as an apprentice or trainee.
To be eligible for the Career Boost Program, you must:
- be aged 15 years or older;
- not be a school student;
- permanently reside in Queensland;
- be an Australian citizen, or Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), or a temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen;
- not already have a certificate IV or higher qualification (including tertiary qualification) completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student and foundation skills qualifications do not count). Note: This eligibility requirement does not apply to individuals seeking to enrol in a skill set.
- not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count).
- Review the course information and contact us if you require any further clarification about the costs, co-contribution fee, how and when feels will be charged and collected, delivery mode, training timeline, assessment methods, delivery locations, requirements for successful completion of the qualification or skill set, licensing requirements or student support services.

- Submit your application online.
- Undertake the Online Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital (LLND) assessment.
- Participate in a pre-enrolment assessment phone conversation with one of our Student Services Officers.
- Pay your co-contribution fee.
- Your application will be assessed and finalised by CTA Training Specialists Student Services team, and you will receive a written / phone response usually within 3 – 5 business days.
- Review and sign your training plan.
- Commence your course.
- Access additional support services offered by CTA Training Specialists as required throughout your course.
The Queensland Government subsidises the cost of undertaking an approved qualification however all participants will be required to contribute a co-contribution fee.
The co-contribution fee can be paid by your employer or another third party on your behalf but will under no circumstance be waived by CTA and must be paid prior to enrolment into a funded training course.

Concessional student status applies when the student falls into one of the following categories:
- Holds a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds such a card and is named on the card;
- Holds an official form issued under Commonwealth law confirming that they, their partner, or the person of whom they are a dependant is entitled to concessions under a Health Care, Veteran or Pensioner Concession Card;
- Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
- Has a disability;
- Is an adult prisoner.

Applications are subject to approval by CTA Operations Team. Submitting a completed application does not guarantee approval of funding. Training cannot commence until you have received written confirmation of your application being approved.
- Availability of funding is subject to change without notice at the discretion of the Queensland Government.
- Applicants are only eligible to receive funding for one subsidised place in either a Certificate IV, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma qualification under the general training pathway; or a higher level apprenticeship/traineeship at Certificate IV or above; and up to two subsidised skill sets in priority industries or sectors as part of the program.
- Participants must provide additional information / feedback to CTA within three months of completing their qualification.
- Student co-contribution fees must be paid to CTA prior to course commencement. Co-contribution fees will be handled in line with the refund policy.
- Student co-contribution fees may vary depending on the course location and delivery method.
- Applicants who are registered Job Seekers should consult their Job Active Provider prior to submitting an application. Your Job Active Provider may be able to provide additional support services and/or pay the student co-contribution fees for eligible applicants.
- Additional terms and conditions will be outlined on the application forms and are subject to change.
- Participants are required to submit and pay for their own industry licence applications (where applicable). These costs are not included in the student contribution fee or funding subsidy.
- Students can only access Career Boost through approved training providers (Skills Assure Suppliers).
- DTET may amend student eligibility requirements at any time based on factors such as budget, emerging priorities, and the need to ensure a pipeline of workers for critical occupations and improved access to job opportunities for identified priority cohorts.

Fee For Service Training
Fee For Service Training is for students who are not eligible for government funding. Students only pay for the number of units they complete as CTA Training Specialists do not charge for credit transfers.
