Since 2002, the Australian Club Management Institute (ACMI) has been renowned throughout the Queensland Clubs industry as an elite training and education program designed to identify high performing individuals. The ACMI equips successful candidates with the necessary skills and leadership traits to excel in senior roles.

We partner with several industry sponsors who actively engage with our cohorts, sharing their expertise and offering real-world perspectives and insights. Their dedication, which includes participating in training sessions and hosting site visits, is what makes the ACMI experience truly exceptional.

"ACMI is key for developing future leaders in the Club industry," says Jeff Simmonds (Coca Cola Europacific Partners, founding partner of ACMI). "It offers excellent training, recognised qualifications, and valuable networking opportunities."

The 2024/2025 cohort hail from all corners of Queensland, celebrating diversity in the Clubs and communities they represent throughout the state. The cohort are currently nearing the finish line of their incredible 18-month journey to earn their BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management.

ACMI's training program provides exceptional learning opportunities, connecting participants with key industry partners, suppliers, and senior leaders. The 2024-25 cohort have gained insights into executive venue management, industry sustainability initiatives, and participated in hands-on hospitality experiences led by program partners and industry leaders.

"The ACMI program has been an incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals from Clubs across a wide region. Representing a regional club, I’ve gained insights from various perspectives, and the networking opportunities have been truly transformative. Sharing experiences, challenges, and solutions with others in similar roles has not only deepened my knowledge but also fostered a strong sense of community within the industry. Additionally, the unique experiences provided by the program partners and sponsors have been both eye-opening and one-of-a-kind. At its core, the program thrives on the dedication of its mentors, leaders and trainers, whose passion and commitment drive positive outcomes for everyone involved.”

As the 2024/2025 cohort approaches graduation, we extend our sincere gratitude to all the program partners, venue leaders, alumni and industry representatives who have contributed to this enriching experience. Their support is vital in ensuring the future of the Queensland Club industry is in capable hands.

As Dale Coy, Strategic Business Development Manager (Odyssey Gaming Services), noted during the cohort’s training session at Odyssey’s Hamilton headquarters, “The ACMI program provides invaluable training and development opportunities, ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of Clubs and their leadership for generations to come."

We are confident that these future leaders will make a significant contribution to the industry for many years to come, and look forward to welcoming our 2025/2026 cohort to the fold soon.
