Greenbank Services Club has long been a highly valued partner of CTA Training Specialists. Over the years, our collaboration has covered the full spectrum of workforce development. This includes school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs), which empower students to earn, learn, and gain nationally recognised qualifications. It also extends to senior leadership development through CTA’s Australian Club Management Institute — with General Manager Tim Wright proudly part of the 2006 alumni and Gaming and Loyalty Manager Heidi Stone and Duty Manager Matthew Pryde part of the 2025 cohort.

At the heart of this long-standing partnership is a shared commitment to flexibility and transparency. These values have underpinned the delivery of tailored, fit-for-purpose training solutions that drive professional growth at every level — building confidence, capability, and future-ready skillsets within one of Queensland’s most iconic clubs.

Now, Greenbank Services Club is extending this ethos of customisation and collaboration beyond its workforce and into its member experience, unveiling a transformative $20 million redevelopment that redefines what a modern Club can be. This ambitious 15-month project introduces dynamic new spaces designed to engage members, strengthen community connection, and elevate every aspect of the customer experience.

A forward-thinking collaboration between Greenbank Services Club and leading industry partners—Paynters, COHA Group, and Altis Architecture—has delivered a showcase of innovation and excellence for the Queensland Club industry.

Greenbank Services Club General Manager, Tim Wright, said:

“It was about creating an identity in each space, providing the ability for members who enjoy regular visits to the club to enjoy a different space based on how they feel, who they are with and time of day. The bespoke seating areas all throughout the club has generated such positive feedback. Members love their new niche areas and the high standards in furnishings and fittings. We cannot thank our management team and all staff for their flexibility and resilience through the 15-month build and the support shown towards our members with the significant changes to the venue. The vision and creativity of Angel and the Team @ Altis, the ability to work seamlessly through a live venue in the building phases by Grant @ Paynters and the supervision and Project Management from Paul and Shiva @ COHA Group was exceptional.”

One of the standout new offerings is The Barrel Room—a luxurious, bespoke craft brewery experience. With custom small batch brewed beers on tap, rich timber finishes, polished concrete floors, and an expansive glass façade, The Barrel Room transitions effortlessly from a bright, social daytime venue to a warm, intimate atmosphere by night.

Paynters’ Senior Project Manager, Grant Meredyth, said:

“This project pushed the boundaries of traditional club design. Working closely with our project partners, we’ve delivered a truly unique community space, with exceptional quality finishes that showcase the craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout. While Paynters has a longstanding portfolio of club projects, this one is truly a standout for us.”

The Glasshouse & Sunroom is a vibrant oasis where light-filled spaces blend seamlessly with stylish natural finishes. Thoughtfully designed for relaxation, entertainment, and unforgettable moments, it’s the perfect destination to unwind or celebrate in style.

COHA Group’s Managing Director, Paul Coory, said:

“Tim Wright and the Club set a clear and inspiring vision for the transformation of this leading Club. COHA Group were honoured to be entrusted with the end-to-end project management of this outstanding project, managing the Architectural competition, the design and construct tender, and the construction delivery. We knew this project would be special, and Altis Architecture delivered an outstanding design and seamlessly executed by Paynters. To achieve such a high end result while delivering the project on time and within budget was an extraordinarily disciplined and highly collaborative team effort.”

The Marketplace is set to redefine Club dining, becoming synonymous with exceptional food and vibrant entertainment. Guests can savour a diverse array of offerings—from authentic Italian pizza and pasta, bold Asian fusion, and classic American diner fare to sizzling churrasco meats, a fresh salad bar, and indulgent coffee and desserts—all within a modern, elegant, and welcoming space.

The redevelopment also features a versatile new Function Room, a renovated Gaming Floor, and a sophisticated Gaming Lounge—further enhancing the Club’s hospitality and entertainment offerings while delivering elevated experiences at every touchpoint. This next chapter for Greenbank Services Club is more than just a redevelopment — it's a powerful reflection of the Club’s ongoing commitment to innovation, community, and continuous improvement.

By combining visionary design, strategic partnerships, and a strong focus on people development, Greenbank has not only elevated its facilities — it has set a new benchmark for what modern Clubs can offer their members. While the new spaces undoubtedly enhance the guest experience, they’re also empowering staff to grow. With expanded offerings comes the need for expanded capability — and Greenbank is proactively building the skills within its team to deliver these elevated services. From hospitality to leadership, the Club is investing in its people to ensure the member experience remains exceptional, now and into the future.
