Get excited, this is great news for our venues and businesses who are looking to commence an apprentice or trainee! The Morrison Government is extending the BAC with a $365.3 million investment that will support an extra 35,000 apprentices and trainees get into a job, with the date now extended a further 3 months until June 30, 2022.
General Manager of CTA Training, Aaron Bray had this to say about the announcement,
“It’s another welcome boost to the hospitality industry given the recent challenges we’ve faced as a whole. Venues that haven’t considered apprentices or trainees previously can now take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to upskill and train their best!”
What’s available?
In addition to the $4,000* per apprentice or trainee in Standard Incentives and depending on your eligibility, you may be able to also claim additional payments. For e.g.:
- $4,000* per apprentice aged 21 and over undertaking a Certificate III or IV on the National Skills Needs List^;
- $4,000 per apprentice in an area of Additional Identified Skills Shortage†;
- $3,000* per apprentice undertaking Certificate II in Declared Drought Areas;
- $1,500* per apprentice aged 45 years or older;
- $1,500* per Australian School-based apprentice; or
- $1,000* per apprentice in a Rural or Regional area undertaking a Certificate III or IV on the National Skills Needs List^.
