Are you eligible for up to 50% Government wage subsidy for your apprentices?

If you haven’t heard already, the Federal Government has announced an extension on a range of employer incentives in response to the impacts of COVID-19. With the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) offering a subsidy of 50% of wages for any business now extended until March 31, 2022, NOW is the time to consider bringing an Apprentice Chef into your venue!

What’s available?

In addition to the $4,000* per apprentice or trainee in Standard Incentives and depending on your eligibility, you may be able to also claim additional payments.  For e.g.:

  • $4,000* per apprentice aged 21 and over undertaking a Certificate III or IV on the National Skills Needs List^;
  • $4,000 per apprentice in an area of Additional Identified Skills Shortage†;
  • $3,000* per apprentice undertaking Certificate II in Declared Drought Areas;
  • $1,500* per apprentice aged 45 years or older;
  • $1,500* per Australian School-based apprentice; or
  • $1,000* per apprentice in a Rural or Regional area undertaking a Certificate III or IV on the National Skills Needs List^.

Combined with our Certificate III Commercial Cookery and implementing an apprentice mentoring program that is designed for and solely focused on your venue and your team, this is a great opportunity to bring in a new kitchen member. Give your Head Chef the support and extra hands needed for their busy kitchens and really take your food game to the next level.

Our SIT30816 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification will give your new apprentice the skills and abilities they need to become a qualified cook. Learning from industry professionals who have gained over 20 years of experience in premium European and Australian restaurants at a senior level, students will enjoy a vibrant and comprehensive program that equips them for the fast pace of back-of-house operations.

As we settle into 2022, we are looking at welcoming more trainees and apprentices on board and are excited to play a role in building bright futures.
