The launch of a new scholarship program by QCM (Queensland Club Management) Group in partnership with CTA this month will see students study, tour and work across a number of venues for an unique and exciting learning experience.
The QCM (Queensland Club Management) Group launched a scholarship program in partnership with CTA this month.
Students will undertake two levels of qualification, Diploma or Advanced diploma in Hospitality. One student moving onto study his Diploma, Michael Fields, began as a school based trainee at North’s leagues six years ago. Another great example of how investing in young people and school based training can bring long term rewards for the employer.
Nicky Cowan HR Manager at North’s commented on her delight to see so many long term staff undertaking the program, which was the vision some years ago of John Ribot and his team. The students will also undertake experiential tours of businesses such as Jupiter’s, Brisbane Convention Centre, Treasury Casino and many more over their study time, adding hugely to their learning experiences.
CTA General Manager Jonathan Waller commented;
“It is great to see this group of clubs creating a learning environment that not only safeguards the long term stability of these venues, but brings the clubs closer together. Trainees will be given the opportunity to work in each other’s establishments and gain an insight into the varied expectations of each property.”
The QCM Clubs are North’s leagues and services Club Kallangur, North’s Devils, Lions Richlands, Ipswich Jets and Magpies Mackay. CTA wish everyone success in this exciting venture.
