The Advanced Licensee Training course is for licensees, approved managers, and club secretaries of venues with a Tier 2 liquor licence, i.e., venues serving alcohol past midnight, nightclubs and karaoke bars. The course aims to deliver the skills and resources required to maintain a safe and secure hospitality scene in a higher-risk environment.
Course Price: $350
Prerequisites: Valid Licensee Training Competency Card or Interim Certificate
Course Outcome: An interim Certificate that can be used to get a Competency Card from your local NSW Services Centre*
Course Duration: 6-8 hours

Valid in: NSW
*Upon completing the course, you will receive an Interim Certificate from Liquor & Gaming NSW. You can take this interim certificate to your local Services centre to get your competency card photo updated and be issued with a new competency card. Completing this course also renews your RSA and LT competencies for another five years.

Licensees, approved managers and club secretaries are required to do this additional course if they work in a venue that operates in a higher-risk environment and/or have a Tier 2 License. These businesses include:

Upon completing the course, you will be issued an Interim Certificate. You must take this certificate to your local NSW Services centre to get your new physical competency card. Completing your ALT course also renews your LT and RSA for another five years.
Completing your licensee training renews your RSA competency but not your RCG competency.
If you hold an RCG Competency Card and want to keep it valid, you must complete the RCG refresher within 90 days before enrolling in ALT.
Your ALT competency is valid for five years and must be renewed before the expiration date on your Competency Card.
Three months before the expiration date, L&G NSW will send you an email and SMS with the link to the refresher course.
LT and ALT have the same refresher course. Completing it will renew your existing competencies, including RSA, LT and ALT.
If you hold an RCG and/or ARCG endorsement, you must do your RCG refresher separately but around the same time. You can do your RCG refresher here.
Only approved training organisations can issue a valid interim certificate for Advanced Licensee Training. CTA Training Specialists is an approved training provider.

CTA Training Specialists charge $300 for Licensee Training. This includes the cost of the competency card. The course breakdown is as follows:
Your ALT Competency is valid for five years. You will receive an SMS from L&G NSW with access to the refresher course three months before it expires.
No, your Licensee Training is only valid in NSW and cannot be used in other states.
