About Norths Devils Leagues Club
Established for over 50 years, Norths Devils is an important hub for community support and rugby league growth in Brisbane’s northern suburbs. The venue is spaciously designed to incorporate the 240 seat restaurant, versatile function spaces, kids play room, sports bar and 93 gaming machines.
A Traineeship allows you to gain a nationally recognised qualification by combining employment and training. You learn new skills in your workplace, and you are paid for it! Traineeships provide knowledge and experience relevant to your career and are completed part-time while you finish school.
The club is currently looking for some dedicated Year 10 or 11 students to join their school-based traineeship program for the duration of the 12-14 month program, you’ll be able to work, earn and learn while completing a BSB30120 Certificate III in Business.
These qualifications reflect the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services and hospitality job roles. Individuals in these roles carry out a range tasks that require hospitality, technology and business skills. They apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment, and relevant theoretical knowledge. They may provide technical advice and support to a team.
What Do I Need to Know?
School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) allow high school students, generally in Years 10 and 11, to work for an employer and train towards a recognised qualification, while completing their secondary schooling and studying for their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) or equivalent.
Students must gain support and approval from their school to undertake a SAT. Students continue to attend school as usual, however, some of their paid employment and/or training will become part of their school timetable. A SAT must impact on the student’s school timetable to be considered school based. The ATIS-048 Determining the impact on the school timetable information sheet provides further details.
The school, student, their parent/guardian, employer, and training organisation will negotiate a schedule which outlines when the student is at school, work and training. This schedule must indicate exactly how the SAT will impact the school timetable.
The student and the employer will select a training organisation (known as the supervising registered training organisation) to provide all training and assessment for the SAT. The training organisation will work with the parties to develop a training plan which outlines training needs, how and when the training takes place, who will provide the training, and how the training will be assessed. At CTA, our traineeship has a hospitality pathway so it’s the best of both worlds!
