It’s not often that an F&B specialist has an opportunity to make their mark on a highly successful extensive leisure business of this calibre.
Magpies Sporting Club is a not for profit Community Club that is member driven and community oriented, dedicated to encouraging sporting participation and supporting the Mackay community. In 2017-18 Magpies donated over $2.1 million to the Mackay Community. Magpies proudly support 11 affiliated sporting clubs and co-found the Magpies Crusaders.
The Club facilities include modern function rooms, bars, lounges, coffee shop, state-of-the-art gaming room and restaurant. They have won numerous awards across a broad range and is recognised as one of the leading regional Community Clubs in Queensland with over 13,000 members. Over many years it has had a very stable management board and a highly skilled management executive team with an enviable employee and membership culture.
The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and will be an integral part of the senior executive team. The Manager F&B will possess the ability to work at every level of the business from board and management reporting and strategic planning, to working on the floor side by side with employees as required.
As the Manager F&B you will be responsible for the performance of all the Club’s food and beverage operations and staff. The Manager F&B plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining the standard of service delivery, ensuring the Club’s food offering is modern and on-trend and ensuring a smooth and profitable operation.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in modern kitchen administration, catering front of house operation, bars and beverage performance, stock control and labour costs across all food and beverage operations. It’s expected that as Manager F&B, you will lead by example whilst being an effective delegator. Your understanding of business and finance will ensure that you continue to deliver strong margins for the F&B departments.
