Does your venue have a Code of Conduct?

Online Staff InductionsBefore a new employee begins working with you, it’s important that they understand and are willing to adhere to your venue’s Code of Conduct.  This code of conduct should be covered in the employee’s induction material.

When devising a code of conduct, you should include your venue’s rules, values, ethical principles and vision for your business. Having a code of conduct in your workplace provides staff with clear standards and expectations on how to do their job.

Your venue’s code of conduct should be consistently followed whenever the employee is acting on behalf of your venue.  This includes:

  • Performing work in the workplace
  • Taking business trips
  • Attending work-related social events
  • Representing you or your business.
