Departmental plant and equipment on licensed premises – What do you own?

Check your venue’s equipmentIf you’re the owner of a licensed premises, then it’s likely that you will operate and maintain a range of appliances and equipment.  As part of being a Responsible Manager, it is important to keep an updated log of your equipment, which should be factored into your risk strategy.

Check the following areas in your venue.  You may have some or all of the components, but it is important to keep a thorough record of any changes and updates.


  • Beer-dispensing equipment

  • Ice machines

  • Post-mix equipment

  • Glasses

  • Glass washers

  • Drink display cabinets

  • Scales for stocktaking


  • Crockery and cutlery

  • Food preparation equipment (ovens, mixers, coffee machines, etc.)

  • Food service items (bain-maries, trolleys)

  • Dishwashers


  • Electronic Gaming Machines

  • Note dispensers

  • Note counters

  • Coin dispensers

  • Scales for weighing


  • LCD screens for TV and internal advertising
  • Powerpoint projectors
  • PA and audio equipment
  • Satellite channel connections
  • Keno, Bingo and TAB terminals


  • Telephone and paging systems

  • PC’s, tablets, network servers

  • Office furniture

Building support

  • Air-conditioning plant

  • Toilets

  • Generators and backup power supply

  • Security cameras and monitoring devices
