That’s right, our very own Chef Trainer, Chris Cave, has been announced as a Top 3 finalists for Skills for Queensland Training Awards in the North Queensland VET Teacher or Trainer of the Year category!
This is the first time that Chris has nominated. Way to go Chris!
The prestigious Queensland Training Awards have been shining a spotlight on excellence in training and the transformative power of skills since 1962.
For individual and employer categories, nominees must first compete at a regional level. Regional winners then contest their category at the state level – competing against other regional winners for a coveted Queensland Training Award.
Eleven award categories are initially contested across seven regional areas – Tropical North Queensland, North Queensland, Central Queensland, Darling Downs South West, North Coast, Metropolitan and South East, with Regional winners automatically selected as state finalists to compete for a state title in their nominated category at the Queensland Training Awards. With State winners in aligned categories then given the opportunity to compete for national honours at the Australian Training Awards.
As our lead training in the Commercial Cookery team at CTA, Chris is very passionate about the learning outcomes of his apprentices and supports them through their journeys from completing their SIT30816 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery to beyond as they go on to be exceptional Chefs in the hospitality industry.
Chris will be attending the award evening on the 8th July and we are so thrilled to see his hard work recognised with this honour. The 2022 Queensland Training Awards North Queensland Regional Final Presentation Dinner on Friday, 8 July at Cluden Park Racecourse will provide the opportunity to showcase the outstanding achievements of the region’s apprentices, trainees, vocational students, trainers, employers and community-based organisations.
We would also like to offer our congratulations and good luck to the finalists of the North Queensland region! To discover the full list of finalists or purchase your own tickets to the event, simply head to the Queensland Training Awards website.
